In the Attendance area of your Intellischool Analytics Settings, you'll notice that you have a choice between 'Absent from school' or 'Absent from class' for how average semester attendance is calculated, which will be reflected throughout both the Cohort and Learner profiles.
Use the below table to determine which of the two calculation options will suit your school's needs best:
